U.S. Senate and House Leadership appointed members to serve on the conference committee. Conferees met on Thursday, May 10 to begin their negotiations.

Conferees for the Senate are: Budget Committee Chairman Kent Conrad (D-ND), Sen. Patty Murray (D-WA), Sen. Ron Wyden (D-OR), Ranking Member Judd Gregg (R-NH), and Sen. Pete Domenici (R-NM).

Conferees for the House are: Budget Committee Chairman John Spratt (D-SC), Rep. Rosa DeLauro (D-CT), Rep. Chet Edwards (D-TX), Ranking Member Paul Ryan (R-WI), and Rep. J. Gresham Barrett (R-SC).
