Showdown Over Priorities

Tuesday, October 09, 2007

Last week, President Bush denied millions of children doctor's visits and medicine when he vetoed the State Children's Health Insurance bill (SCHIP). Now a coalition of groups who support health care for needy kids is putting pressure on the House of Representatives to override the President's heartless veto. If President Bush and Republican leaders can find hundreds of billions to spend on the Iraq War, surely they can afford a fraction of that to cover needy kids. The veto override vote is scheduled for the week of October 15. In the meantime, sign the ECAP petition to urge your member to stand with American kids by overriding the President's SCHIP veto.
